Pink Ribbon Breakfast 2007

On Friday 19 October 165 guests enjoyed a deliciously 'pink' themed breakfast at the Crowne Plaza Ballroom. Peter and Wendy from Mix 104.9 did their morning broadcast from the event. It was fantastic to see so many people dressed in all shades of pink and a very enthausiatic Marilyn Starr won the pearl earring and necklace set donated by Pearl Galleria. Natascha Plani, Wendy from Mix 104.9 and Gaynor Beck all gave very informative and heartfelt speeches and there were heaps of prizes and giveaways for everyone. Thanks to our guests generous donations Womens Network NT raised over $2500 for the National Breast Cancer Founation. Also a special thank you to Mix 104.9 who raised an additional $1100 in the mall on Thursday 18 October.

November Networking Meeting Federal Candidate Forum

A fantastic group of over 70 people turned out for our November Network Meeting which was a Federal Candidates Fourm leading up to the 2007 Federal Elections on November 24. Firstly a big thank you to all the candidates who spoke at the Forum in the following order Debbie Hudson Greens, Damian Hale ALP, Trudy Campbell Citizens Electoral Council, David Tollner CLP and Jacques Chester Liberty and Democracy Party. The candidates were asked to give us a brief explaination of who they are and what their parties stand for as well as respond to at least three of the five questions we forwarded to them covering the issues of Child Care, Nuclear, the Intervention, Industrial Relations and Statehood. As politicians have the ability to do, most items were covered some of the time but they still left us wanting more. The candidates were very generous with their time and stayed and networked with the crowd for quite a while afterwards which was much appreciated by all. A very informative and enjoyable night.
